O Macaé segue surpreendendo com a sua preparação para o retorno do Campeonato Carioca sub-20. A equipe, que voltou a treinar ainda no mês de junho, no CT do CEPE, em Duque de Caxias, não para de anunciar as novidades do elenco. Desta vez, a diretoria do clube apresentou dois reforços com experiência internacional: os irmãos gêmeos Brenno e Brunno, que recentemente defenderam o Kingston United e Woodbridge Soccer Clube no Canadá.

Nascidos em 2002 e naturais do Rio de Janeiro, os gêmeos quase sempre atuaram juntos. Quando se separaram, foi por pouco tempo. Brunno, que é lateral-esquerdo, mas também desempenha função como volante e meia, iniciou com 7 anos na escolinha do Fluminense em Xerém. Depois disso, defendeu o Tigres no Carioca sub-15 da primeira divisão, em 2016, e no mesmo ano, atuou também pelo sub-15 do Arraial do Cabo, no Carioca da Série B.

Brenno, que é atacante, também começou na escolinha do Fluminense ao lado do irmão, e chegou a defender o clube das Laranjeiras nas categorias de base. Depois disso, em 2018, seguiu para o Canadá com Brunno. Na América do Norte, os dois se destacaram defendendo Kingston United em 2018, e Woodbridge Soccer Clube em 2019, na categoria Sub-17, em Toronto. O atacante Brenno destaca a bagagem que trás para o Macaé nesta temporada e aponta as diferenças do futebol do Canadá para o futebol brasileiro.

– Ano passado chegamos em três finais. O futebol no Canadá tem mais contato. É um futebol mais faltoso. Acho que pelo fato dos canadenses e americanos terem um porte maior. Lá também encontramos mais espaços para jogar, aqui no Brasil é mais pegado – disse.

Com destaque no futebol do Canadá e EUA, cabe destacar que somente na temporada passada o Canadá criou a sua liga própria, os dois irmãos também acumulam histórias curiosas como o dia em que um pagou pelo erro do outro.

– Uma vez jogando no Canadá eu tomei três cartões amarelos, mas quem cumpriu a suspensão foi o meu irmão. Tentamos explicar que o cartão tinha sido aplicado para a pessoa errada, mas não conseguimos – lembrou o lateral Brunno.

Os irmãos Brenno e Brunno vêm treinando com o restante do elenco e estão inscritos para a sequência do Campeonato Carioca sub-20. O Macaé Esporte tem reestreia marcada para o dia 9 de setembro diante da Portuguesa, no Estádio Luso Brasileiro, na Ilha do Governador.

Liverpool have retained their interest in OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram this summer as Jurgen Klopp looks to complete his midfield ahead of a crucial Premier League campaign.

That's according to Tuttosport (via FC Inter News), who write that Liverpool are interested in signing the Frenchman but face a wave of competition from Inter Milan, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.

The report claims that Thuram, the 'jewel' of Nice, is indeed attracting intense attention from said outfits are impressing in Ligue 1, with Les Aiglons believed to have placed a €50m (£43m) price tag on the energetic midfielder to ward off advances.

While the 22-year-old is happy to stay put, Liverpool could do with a few more faces in the centre after losing James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on free transfers, Fabio Carvalho on loan and Fabinho and captain Jordan Henderson to Saudi Arabian sides this summer.

Liverpool signed Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion for £35m before swooping for the creative Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig for £60m, and while such purchases are impressive, more needs to be done to ensure the top-four is not missed for a second successive season.

While a move for holding midfielder Romeo Lavia is taking centre stage at present – the Reds have failed with three bids; Southampton are holding out for £50m – Thuram could be targetted next to close the door on the midfield rebuild.

Journalist Zach Lowy believes that Liverpool must strike a deal in any case, as he explained exactly what the box-to-box ace could bring for Klopp's side:

"Khephren Thuram is just the sort of player that Liverpool need to transform their midfield. Elite ball carrier for someone of his size and really effective at winning the ball high up the pitch — perfect signing for Klopp’s side."

If the Merseyside outfit do decide to forge ahead with another midfield transfer after the Lavia saga is concluded, one way or another, then the interest in Leicester City's Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall must be abandoned in place of Nice's gem, who would surely bring more to the table for a lasting period.

According to Anfield Watch, Liverpool have been monitoring Dewsbury-Hall's progress with the Foxes over the past year, and have been left impressed despite suffering relegation from the Premier League.

The 24-year-old, who is rated at £24m by FootballTransfers, can hold his head high as many of his peers succumbed to dismal form and the defence capitulated to flood in the water and sink the ship.

As per Sofascore, he recorded an average league rating of 6.86 last term, completing 79% of his passes, forging 1.3 key passes and 1.7 tackles per outing and winning 52% of his ground duels.

Comparatively, Thuram averaged a match rating of 7.04 in France, completing 87% of his passes, making 1.1 key passes, 1.1 interceptions and 1.5 tackles per game and succeeding with 51% of his dribbles.

Once lauded as "tenacious" by talent scout Jacek Kulig, Thuram also ranks among the top 5% of midfielders across Europe's top five leagues for progressive carries, the top 9% for successful take-ons, the top 21% for assists and the top 23% for interceptions per 90, as per FBref.

Dewsbury-Hall is listed as a comparable player to the one-cap France international, and while he does rank among the top 12% of positional peers for progressive carries, the top 10% for successful take-ons and the top 1% for blocks per 90, with such a similar profile to Thuram Klopp would have to decide between the pair.

And Thuram simply has to be the answer – at just 22 years of age, he could be moulded to the German manager's own creation and be nurtured into a truly world-class talent, one capable of spearheading Liverpool toward a new era of illustrious success.

وذكرت الصحف يوم الخميس أنه بعد محادثات داخلية، تقرر عدم دخول ستيدتن إلى غرفة تبديل الملابس في استاد لندن أو ملعب تدريب راش جرين بالنادي حتى نهاية الموسم، بسبب قيادته عملية البحث عن خليفة مويس.

وعن ذلك، قال مويس: “لا نريد أي إلهاءات، نحن نبقي أعيننا على المباريات، تيم لديه وظيفته ليقوم بها، وأنا لدي وظيفتي لأقوم بها، لدينا ثلاث مباريات لنلعبها”.

واستمر: “نريد مواصلة التركيز على تلك المباريات التي تحدثنا عنها”.

Beale brought the talented engine room machine in from Standard Liege for €2m (£1.7m) in January and he showcased why the English head coach was right to do so as his play on and off the ball oozed class.

As per Sofascore, Raskin completed three of his five attempted dribbles, which was more than any of his teammates managed, and he created one chance, which shows that the Belgian ace was able to drive from midfield to push his team up the pitch to relieve pressure.

There was one moment in particular that stood out during the second half as he appeared third-favourite to come away with the ball under pressure from two Servette defenders after a poor pass from Tavernier and managed to skillfully knick the ball past both of them and won a free-kick in the process.

Defensively, Raskin constantly put pressure on the opposition and put himself about to win possession back for his side on a number of occasions.

As per Sofascore, the 22-year-old dynamo won an impressive 13 duels – five more than any other Gers player – and that resulted in him ending the match with five tackles – more than anyone else – and two interceptions.

With around three minutes to play, Raskin was able to make an excellent recovery to stop a possible break for the home side after a poor clearance from Butland appeared to present them with a chance to counter.

His work rate was sensational all night and that is reflected in his statistics on and off the ball as he popped up in excellent positions all over the pitch to make vital contributions, which played a crucial role in Rangers coming away with the draw and aggregate win.

Therefore, Raskin was the true Champions League hero for Beale's side on Tuesday night as he bailed Butland out towards the end of the clash and made an impact in both halves, whereas the bulk of the shot-stopper's work came within the opening 45 minutes.

Delhi Daredevils are set to appoint a new coaching staff after parting ways with head coach Paddy Upton and technical director Zubin Bharucha. TA Sekar, their director, has also resigned citing personal reasons, but assistant coaches S Sriram and Pravin Amre will remain with the franchise.Earlier this year, Daredevils lost the services of Rahul Dravid as chief mentor, after he opted to remain as coach of the India A and India Under-19 sides. As per the new conflict of interest regulations, Dravid couldn’t be associated with an IPL franchise while working with the national side.Daredevils CEO Hemant Dua said that the decision to not extend Upton and Bharucha’s contracts was mutual. “It was a two-year contract, and when the tenure ended both the parties chose to not extend the contract,” he told ESPNcricinfo. “They wanted to do their own thing after Rahul’s decision [to move on]. They have been a team all this while, so we respect their decision.”Dua confirmed that the franchise has initiated the process of identifying a new head coach and that there would be a restructuring of the coaching staff. “We are in the process and working on it and waiting for some things to settle down,” he said. “We will see what is needed, but I think we will restructure a little bit and then we will present it in a new way.
