Confira a entrevista completa do técnico do São Paulo:

Maior legado no São Paulo é o resgate do futebol do atacante Brenner?

Postura no Maracanã
Pressionamos bem a maior parte do tempo.

Vamos continuar fazendo a mesma coisa. Treinar, trabalhar e jogar.

Acreditaram no trabalho.

Arsenal: Gunners flop who left for £0 has outscored Saka this season

Arsenal's revolution under Mikel Arteta is reaching its apex, with Bukayo Saka the crowning jewel of his star-studded team…

How good is Bukayo Saka?

Having emerged through their infamous Hale End academy, the 22-year-old has battled his way up through the ranks to become not just his club's, but arguably one of the world's finest young talents.

After all, he is dominating on every stage, having scored 14 goals and assisted a further 11 in the Premier League last season, firing home on his Champions League debut just last month, and even boasting 11 goals across his 31 caps for England.

It seems the trickster can do no wrong, with teammate Oleksandr Zinchenko seeking to laud his influence last season: "He is an amazing player, we know that. He is on fire at the moment".

Then, when asked if he was the best player around at the moment, the Ukraine captain would reply: "In the Premier League? I’m not the guy who is going to judge but he is one of them for sure. I hope he is on this form for the rest of the season because he is such an important player for Arsenal as we have 10 more finals to go."

With ten goal contributions already this campaign across all competitions, it seems poised to be yet another groundbreaking one. However, in Joel Campbell, the ex-Gunners ace is actually one of the few in world football netting more clinically than the England international.

How is Joel Campbell playing nowadays?

Having been brought to north London by Arsene Wenger, drafted directly from his homeland, the Costa Rican was a speedster who showcased plenty of promise that he certainly failed to live up to.

After all, across seven years at the Emirates, the 31-year-old would only muster a miserable 40 appearances, yet endured an astounding six different loan spells in an effort to usher out his potential.

The legendary French gaffer clearly saw something in the left-footed right winger, who heaped praise on him in 2016: "What is very interesting in Campbell's case is that he looks like he has gained more confidence and authority in his game and in the final third he is a dangerous player and he has shown that.

"When you look at the player and the number of goals he scores and the number of assists, on that front you must say he has been very positive and he works hard for the team".

Joel Campbell Arsenal

However, it never quite felt like he would make it with Arsenal, and instead opted to ply his trade with Leon in Mexico just two years after joining Frosinone for free. Having since returned to Costa Rica with LD Alajuelense, it seems he has finally found some much-needed consistency that is seeing him outscore Saka.

After all, whilst Arteta's main man has five goals across all competitions, Campbell has actually managed to notch six from the same role.

Although there is a clear disparity in the respective quality of the leagues, it cannot be denied how in-form the former Villarreal loanee is at the moment. It perhaps lends to the suggestion that Wenger was too dismissive of the trickster, who could have flourished in north London had he been handed the chances there rather than constantly shipped out on loan.

Asia Cup success promises huge boost for Bangladesh women's cricket

Apart from inspiring young girls to take up the sport, the BCB chief executive says the women’s team now has its own value to attract sponsors

Bangladesh women wheel away after winning the Asia Cup•ACC

Women’s cricket in Bangladesh can expect a boost in popularity and monetary support after their historic and maiden Asia Cup title. They defeated six-time champions India in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, having cruised past hosts Malaysia in the last league match a day earlier. The level of interest among fans shot up overnight after they beat Pakistan and India earlier in the week, with social media abuzz with the unprecedented run of success of the Bangladesh team. The immediate impact on the team is an injection of confidence ahead of July’s World T20 Qualifiers in Netherlands. While Bangladesh have defeated higher-ranked teams in the past, too, including South Africa, Pakistan and Sri Lanka across both limited-overs formats, their maiden victory over India, who had never lost an Asia Cup match before, and then beating them again in the final became a much bigger deal.In a broader sense, more young girls are likely to take to cricket across Bangladesh after seeing a performance of such promise. The final was televised live in Bangladesh, which is also likely to inspire aspiring cricketers to take the field. In 1997, when Bangladesh qualified for the men’s World Cup for the first time, cricket’s popularity increased tremendously, but it was an all-male affair.Even today, women’s cricket is in the margins and only certain pockets in Bangladesh have training facilities and academies for female cricketers. The story of a local coach using a toilet as his office and for equipment storage to deal with lack of funds and support highlighted the challenges women’s cricket faces currently.Nizamuddin Chowdhury, the BCB chief executive, said that the Asia Cup performance has already had a big enough impact for the board to think differently about women’s cricket, starting with separate sponsorship. “Team performance obviously has an impact on overall morale, popularity and sponsorship,” Chowdhury told ESPNcricinfo. “Currently, the women’s national team sponsorship is bundled with the men’s senior team, but after this success we have to think separately. They now have their own value to attract sponsors.”We have to think especially about the women’s game in Bangladesh. We already have some talent-hunt programmes through domestic tournaments, but we should do more for their development.”About sixteen to 17 players in the national team are being paid BDT 10,000 to 30,000 (USD 120 to 360) per month for the last few years, since the salary structure came in place in 2012. For an ODI, they are paid USD 100 per game and USD 75 for a T20 international. The BCB is also likely to discuss the salary structure in its next board meeting on June 11.Nazmul Abedeen, the women’s team manager, said that the dream run in the Asia Cup will make the players more confident and focused, whether they are representing Bangladesh or playing in domestic competitions.”The success will definitely change how current active players think about themselves,” Abedeen said. “Their perception will change. They will be more confident. ‘If they can do it, why not us?’ is what [other players from Bangladesh] will think now. At the same time, it will boost the players’ seriousness in training and competition.”After the Asia Cup, the Bangladesh players will have a short break before travelling to Ireland for three T20 internationals. Then it is on to the Netherlands for the World T20 Qualifiers.

Ben Stokes' fight like 'football hooligans', court told

Alex Hales, who is not on trial, was also accused of kicking a man during the head during the incident last September

The fight outside a Bristol nightclub involving a group of men including Ben Stokes and Alex Hales, which led to Stokes’ arrest, was described as being like “football hooligans”, a court has been told.Stokes, who is standing trial for affray alongside Ryan Ali and Ryan Hale at Bristol Crown Court, was also described as “bullying” a young, gay couple while his England team-mate Hales – who has not been charged with any offence – was accused by a police officer of kicking a man in the head.Max Wilson, who was a student in the Clifton Triangle area of the city when the incident occurred, described a group of “clearly drunk” men acting aggressively towards one another in the early hours of September 25. Wilson, who filmed part of the incident from his bedroom on an upper floor of a building in the area – footage which was later acquired and published by – confirmed that he had described the men’s behaviour as “like football hooligans” in a police statement and is heard to gasp “F***!” in the footage after Stokes punches Hale.”It was just such a fierce punch,” Wilson said. “It just took me by surprise. I felt a bit sorry for the guy who got punched. It looked like he had his hands up.”Wilson’s footage – shown to the jury several times over the first couple of days of the trial – also showed, according to PC Daniel Adams, the officer in the case, Hales kicking Ali in the head as he lay on the pavement.Asked by Stephen Mooney QC, acting on behalf of Hale, whether it would be fair to describe CCTV footage as showing him “kicking a man in the head,” PC Adams replied: “That’s what it looks like, yes. He’s definitely used his feet on three occasions.”Hales was questioned under caution after the incident but not arrested. He is not on trial. Audio from the footage suggests he tried to pull Stokes away from the fray on several occasions – he is repeatedly heard shouting “Stop, Stokes! No! Enough!” – with both Wilson and other witnesses agreeing he was “trying to stop him [Stokes].””Mr Hales is pulling Mr Stokes back by his t-shirt,” PC Adams stated as he commented on footage for the benefit of the jury.Under cross-examination Wilson confirmed he did not think Hales or Stokes had initiated the violence by shoving “another person” but conceded he could not be certain.Much of the second day of the trial was occupied by evidence provided by Andrew Cunningham, a 37-year-old door supervisor at the Mbargo nightclub in the city. Having first accused Stokes of abusing him and mocking two gay men, William O’Connor and Kai Barry, he went on to suggest the England cricketer had been bullying the pair.In particular, he disagreed with Stokes’ defence barrister, Gordon Cole QC, who suggested CCTV footage from outside the Mbargo nightclub showed Stokes engaged in “joking banter” with Barry and O’Connor. And, under cross-examination, it was suggested that Stokes was so enraged by his interaction with Cunningham that he left the area around the nightclub and headed up the road – where the violent incidents occurred – in an angry and frustrated mood.”He was trying to provoke them,” Cunningham said. “They [Stokes and Hales] were laughing at them, not with them.”I didn’t like the fact he [Stokes] flicked a cigarette butt [at O’Connor]. These two guys [Barry and O’Connor] are harmless guys. Not aggressive.”That’s when I stepped in, because they hadn’t done anything wrong. They’re only little guys. I said ‘If you want to start on anyone, start on me.'”He wouldn’t look at me or acknowledge I was there then.”With Cunningham suggesting that Stokes “didn’t seem drunk,” Hale’s representative in the trial, Mr Mooney, said Stokes’ behaviour “can’t be put down to that.” Instead, Mooney alleged, Stokes finally left the area around the nightclub, feeling angry and frustrated.”Was it bullying?” Mooney asked.”Yes,” Cunningham replied.”It wasn’t drunkenness,” Mooney continued. “Just unpleasantness and aggressiveness.”He was aggressive, threatening, unpleasant, bullying. That was his state of mind he was in when he walked up towards The Triangle.”The final witness of the day, Lauren Sweeney, outlined why she called the police on the night of the incident. Looking out of the window of her flat, she alleges she saw Hale – who had just recovered from a blow from Stokes that had briefly rendered him unconscious – break up a road-sign and take a length of metal from it in the direction of the other defendants.”I thought he was going to use the road-sign in an aggressive act,” Sweeney said. “I didn’t think it was self-defence. It was more than just self-defence. It was an aggressive run towards them.”Under cross-examination, PC Adams agreed that both Ali and Hale had bottles at the time of the original fracas and accepted it appeared that Ali had used his “to aim a blow at Mr Barry.”Commenting as CCTV footage was played to the jury, PC Adams said: “Mr Stokes intervenes by throwing a punch. He appears to throw a punch while Hale is in defensive mode. Hale and Ali are backing away. Hales is following Mr Stokes and trying to pull him back. Mr Stokes brushes him off. Ali and Hale are moving backwards. Their arms are up in a defensive gesture. Stokes strikes out at him. The final punch clear for all to see. It floors him [Hale].”Meanwhile the day began and ended with Judge Blair, Recorder of Bristol, reminding the jury to ignore and avoid “biased and inaccurate comments” on social media. The trial continues.

Celtic: Rodgers must unleash "improving" 6 ft 1 ace over Kyogo

Celtic return from the international break this weekend and face off against Hearts at Tynecastle Park in the Scottish Premiership this afternoon.

The Hoops have had a two-week break and will now be looking to continue their strong league form to increase their lead at the top of the table.

Brendan Rodgers' side are currently four points clear in first place, with a game in-hand, and have won each of their last five top-flight matches, since the 0-0 draw with St. Johnstone in August.

Although, the Bhoys have also lost two of their last five games in all competitions due to losses against Lazio and Feyenoord in the Champions League.

They come into today's clash off the back of a 3-1 win over Kilmarnock at Parkhead last time out. Reo Hatate, Luis Palma, and Greg Taylor all got on the scoresheet as the Scottish giants secured a comfortable victory and all three points.

What's the latest Celtic team news?

Liel Abada will remain on the sidelines for this match as he continues to work his way through a thigh injury that he suffered during the international break last month.

The Hoops winger was given a return date of four months on from when he sustained the knock, and it has only been just over a month since then.

Rodgers has also confirmed that central defender Stephen Welsh will be unavailable for selection as the enforcer is not expected to be back in contention until December.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers.

However, summer signing Maik Nawrocki has been back in training and the Polish titan could be an option for the Northern Irish head coach this afternoon.

With a Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid on the horizon, the Hoops boss could look to rotate his squad against Hearts in order to avoid fatigue and further injury issues.

Keeping that in mind, Rodgers must finally unleash South Korea international Hyeon-gyu Oh ahead of Kyogo Furuhashi from the start today.

How did Kyogo perform against Kilmarnock?

The Celtic star did not enjoy his best day at the office last time out as he struggled to make a positive impact on the match against Kilmarnock before the international break.

Off the ball, the opposition found it far too easy to dominate the diminutive ace as he lost all three of his physical duels over the course of his 88 minutes on the pitch.

Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi.

This shows that Celtic did not have a reliable presence through the middle of the park as the former J1 League maestro struggled to deal with the physicality of the game.

As per Sofascore, Kyogo also failed to register a goal or an assist and did not record a single shot on target. The Japan international failed with both of his attempted dribbles and did not create any chances for his teammates.

These statistics show that the usually prolific gem, who completed seven passes in the match, had an off-day at the top end of the pitch with his lack of impact in and out of possession.

How many goals has Kyogo scored this season?

It was an out-of-character performance from Kyogo as he had scored four goals in his previous seven Premiership appearances this season before that clash.

The 27-year-old whiz has produced four goals and two assists, along with five 'big chances' created in eight top-flight outings in total this term.

Only Matt O'Riley (five) has scored more goals and only Callum McGregor (three) has provided more assists within the Celtic squad during the 2023/24 campaign.

This shows that the former Vissel Kobe star has, once again, been an influential figure for the Hoops in the final third at Premiership level this season, with his ability to score and create goals on a regular basis.

His strong start to the current term comes off the back of a 27-goal league season in the 2022/23 campaign. He scored 16 more goals than any of his teammates and scooped up the PFA Scotland Men's Player of the Year award for his fantastic form.

However, his dismal showing against Kilmarnock could provide Rodgers with the perfect opportunity to give him a rest, particularly ahead of the big Champions League clash with Atletico a few days later.

How many goals has Oh scored for Celtic?

The 22-year-old marksman has scored seven goals in 28 matches in all competitions since his move from Suwon Bluewings in January of this year.

He joined midway through the 2022/23 campaign and contributed with six goals in 16 Premiership appearances, along with one goal in four SFA Cup clashes.

The 6 foot 1 dynamo, who was described as an "improving" talent by South Korean hero Jung-won Seo, only started three of those league games and averaged a goal every 81 minutes for the Hoops during the second half of the season.

Kyogo averaged a goal every 86 minutes last term and has produced one every 159 minutes on average so far during the current campaign, which highlights how impressive Oh's return was.

However, Rodgers has not handed the South Korea international a single start in the Premiership this season as the Japanese ace has started every league match so far.

Oh has not been given an opportunity to showcase his ability, with zero goals in four appearances as a substitute to date, and the manager must finally unleash him from the start against Hearts this afternoon.

His goal return in minimal starts last term suggests that the potential is there for him to be a good option for the Hoops in place of Kyogo, which is why this could be a viable selection decision for the ex-Leicester boss to make.

It would allow the Japan international, who played twice and scored once for his country during the break, to rest up and prepare to start against Atletico during the week.

Instead of running Kyogo into the ground and possibly limiting the impact that he can have on the pitch, Rodgers could start Oh and keep his squad fresh whilst offering a rare opportunity to a player who could take his chance and be a difference-maker on the pitch for Celtic.

"I’m told" – Journalist shares Rangers transfer boost for Clement at Ibrox

New Rangers manager Philippe Clement is set for backing from the Gers board as one journalist shares some promising transfer news.

Rangers fixtures and results

The Gers look back on track after sacking former boss Michael Beale, with Clement unbeaten over his first two Rangers games in all competitions. They faced a tough Europa League task on Thursday evening after thrashing Hibernian 4-0 last weekend, with Czech Republic giants Sparta Prague awaiting them at the Epet Arena.

Clement's side came through unscathed, thanks to some early saves from Jack Butland, and even had late chances to snatch a win. While Sam Lammers and Danilo couldn't capitalise on those opportunities, Clement was still thrilled with Rangers' second half display.

"The second half was much better. In the end it was a game that was in the balance, the first half for Sparta, the second half for us," said the Belgian in a post-match press conference.

"But I am happy with the reaction in the second half. It has been a very special week, losing three left full-backs and because of that we had to change the system and doing that with two training sessions is very difficult for any team in the world."

AS Monaco's former managerPhilippe Clement.

Clement then went to praise the mentality of his Scottish Premiership title hopefuls, saying that his players were disappointed to only take a point away from what was a tough fixture.

"It is a very important point. Getting points away from home is really important but I am a winner, I want to win always and I want the team to have the same mentality.

"I saw it after the game, they were disappointed that they didn't win and that is the mentality we need in the next couple of months but in the circumstances we can be happy with a point against a team that plays really good football, a team with a lot of quality. The reaction in the second half was good and we need to build on that."

The Glasgow giants next face off against Hearts at the weekend after battering their Edinburgh neighbours, and on-lookers will be hoping Clement can keep building on the positive results of his early tenure.

Rangers chiefs set to back Clement

In more good news for the 49-year-old, it is believed that Rangers chiefs are determined to give him what he wants in the January transfer window. There has been little in the way of Ibrox rumours to come out recently, with former England Under-17 international Mason Cotcher being one of the only players linked with Rangers this week.

A summer of heavy spending for Beale could be to blame for this, but journalist Pete O'Rourke has now told Football Insider that Gers officials are set to back Clement regardless. O'Rourke says that the club are working very hard to make funds available for him, and those in power will do "everything they can" to ensure Clement's transfer wishes are fulfilled.

"I’m told the Ibrox board are working hard to make transfer funds available for new manager Philippe Clement," wrote the reporter.

"Funds are tight at Rangers – but sources say Clement is keen to put his own stamp on his new side by bringing in players known to him. I’m told club chiefs will do “everything they can” to give the Belgian what he needs to succeed this season."
