وقال جهاد جريشة في تصريحات عبر قناة “أون تايم سبورتس”: “هل يوجد أحد سمع ما قلته؟، هم قرأوا الكلام فقط، أنا قلت إن المنظومة كلها (تتغير وتيجي على المحارة)، وهذا هو رأيي الشخصي، قبل الخبراء الأجانب لا بد أن نصارح أنفسنا ونتكلم بمنتهى المصداقية، الأشخاص الذين يقولون كلام منمق لا بد أن يواجهوا أنفسهم بالحقيقة، نريد تغييرا شاملا وهذا الكلام لا يغضب أحدا”.

وتابع: “منذ 5 سنوات ونحن لدينا مشكلة لأن العناصر واحدة، أنا لم أقصد من تصريحي الغلط في أي شخص، لكي نُصلح لا بد أن نتحدث بوضوح، وأنا لم أخطئ وكلامي كله كان في إطار العمل”.

وأضاف: “من في مصر لا يعرف أنه لا توجد مشكلة بين محمد فاروق وإبراهيم نور الدين؟، أنا أتحدث بوضوح، محمود بسيوني أدار المباراة بشكل جيد، وعندما يكون هناك أخطاء لا بد أن نتحدث، لكن عندما لا نظهر المشاكل (هتفضل محلك سر)”.

وأوضح: “أنا ليس ضدك أنا أتمنى أن يكون التحكيم في أحسن حال، التحكيم يحتاج التغيير الشامل ووجوه جديدة وشغل جديد وليس مجرد كلام فقط وشو في الإعلام، وأتمنى التوفيق للمسؤولين الحاليين”.

وبشأن إبراهيم نور الدين عندما قال أن لجنة الحكام أحالته للتحقيق، قال: “بأي صفة، أنا أقول رأي فني، أين المشكلة عندما أقول أن التحكيم يحتاج تغييرا شاملا، من يغطي على المشاكل يضر التحكيم، كلنا قلنا أن إبراهيم نور الدين يعمل ويجتهد، لكن توجد مشكلة بينه وبين محمد فاروق ومشكلة بينه وبين محمد عادل”.

وبسؤاله ما هي علاقة مشكلة إبراهيم نور الدين ومحمد عادل بالمباراة؟ أجاب: “تعيينه لمباراة الزمالك والبنك الأهلي كان خاطئا، لأنه يتعرض لضغوط غير طبيعية بعد استبعاده من القائمة الدولية والسوبر المصري، ومعسكر حكام النخبة تم استبعاده، فعندما تختاره لإدارة هذه المباراة وهو يتعرض لكل هذه الضغوط فأنت تضره”.

واستطرد: “أنا أتحدث بوضوح وصراحة طول الوقت ولا أجمل الصورة، لكن الوضع ليس جيدا، لماذا أنت غاضب من شخص يتحدث بوضوح، يجب علينا أن نواجه سلبياتنا لكي نُصلح التحكيم المصري، أتمنى أن يكون التحكيم المصري جيدا، ومع الإدارة المصرية للجنة الحكام، مع وجود مطور أجنبي”.

وبسؤاله، هل أخطاء مباراة الزمالك والبنك الأهلي أثرت على النتيجة؟ أتم قائلاً: “مباراة بيراميدز وبتروجيت هناك أخطاء أثرت على نتيجة المباراة، حكم الفيديو وضع نقطة التسلل على قدم لاعب بيراميدز رغم أن النقطة كان المفترض توضع عند كتفه، وتم إلغاء هدف صحيح لـ بتروجيت، وأيضًا مباراة الزمالك والبنك الأهلي كانت بها أخطاء مؤثرة”.

Nottingham Forest have made their fair share of questionable signings since promotion back to the Premier League, which is to be expected given the vast number of incomings at the City Ground.

Since beating Huddersfield Town at Wembley in the play-off final back in May 2022, the Reds have made a staggering 34 additions – a tally higher than any other side in England's top flight.

Undoubtedly, many of the additions have proven to be value for money, with the likes of Morgan Gibbs-White and Murillo two of the best examples – especially given the rumours about the pair's potential big-money departures this summer.

However, many of the incomings under the guidance of owner Evangelos Marinakis have proven to be a disaster. Jesse Lingard, who joined the club on £115k-per-week, left the club at the end of his contract last season, with the former Manchester United talent now struggling for game time in South Korea.

Despite Lingard's disappointing time in the East Midlands, another player has also endured a torrid time since his move to the Reds, only making 19 Premier League appearances last season, before being shipped out on multiple loan deals this campaign.

Emmanuel Dennis' stats at Nottingham Forest

After joining the club in a deal in the region of £20m, forward Emmanuel Dennis failed to make any sort of positive impact at the City Ground last season, with the former Watford man only able to show his qualities in flashes rather than on a consistent basis.

He would go on to make his Forest debut in the 2-0 home defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in August, coming on as a 69th-minute substitute.

Dennis only managed to score twice during the 2022/23 campaign, with the Nigerian scoring against Aston Villa and Newcastle United – with the former Watford man costing the Reds a staggering £10m per goal.

He made 25 appearances for the Reds in all competitions, before being shipped out on multiple loans this season including back to his former side Watford in the Championship.

Emmanuel Dennis' market value in 2024

Nearly two years on from his signing at the club, Dennis' market value has crashed dramatically with the Nigerian now only worth £3.8m as per Transfermarkt.

His value is now less than current Reds loanee Divock Origi, whose value is £400k more than the forward – with the Belgian currently possessing a value of £4.2m. He is another notable striker flop in Nottingham, scoring just one goal in 20 dismal appearances.

It's clear that Dennis isn't the player he was back in 2021/22 when the forward bagged 16 goal contributions in England's top flight – a tally that saw the Reds fork out a hefty fee for the forward.

He's only managed four goals on loan in the Championship this season, further proving he's not of the level the club need ahead of next season.

Dennis' weekly wage of £40k-per-week sees him earn just over £2m a year at Forest, with the club desperately needing to cut their losses on the 26-year-old to help the club's battle to stay within the Premier League's PSR and FFP confines.

Manchester United are going crazy over an "aggressive" young defensive target in the summer transfer window, according to a new report that has emerged from the Spanish media.

The Red Devils continue to be linked with plenty of signings ahead of the end of the season, with young Palmeiras attacker Thalys considered a long-term option with a high ceiling. No concrete bids have been made to sign him yet, but he appears to be on United's radar, especially if he makes his first-team debut for the Brazilian side soon.

Midfield will surely be an area where Sir Jim Ratcliffe looks to improve things in the summer, too, with Casemiro and Christian Eriksen no longer the players they used to be, and Nice ace Khephren Thuram could be the man to come in and replace the former, according to one report. The 23-year-old has averaged 1.6 tackles and 1.2 clearances per game in Ligue 1 so far this season, as well as enjoying an 87.5% pass completion rate.

United have similar problems in defence currently, in terms of ageing players in the squad, from Raphael Varane to Jonny Evans, and Aston Villa ace Ezri Konsa has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford. He has shone for his Champions League-chasing team this season, but could find it hard to turn down a move to the Red Devils.

The England international isn't the only defender who is seen as a target for Ten Hag, however, with a new report suggesting they could look to bring in a highly-rated young talent.

According to Sport [via Sport Witness], Manchester United are interested in signing Barcelona defender Mikayil Faye this summer, but they aren't the only club keen on snapping him up. Arsenal and Juventus are also candidates to acquire the 19-year-old's signature, as well as the likes of RC Lens, Girona, OGC Nice and Borussia Dortmund.

The report from Sport Witness suggests that the interested clubs are creating a transfer "fever" around the player, although they do point out it could simply be hype generated intentionally to drive his price up.

Not a huge amount may be known about Faye outside of Barca, but he is an emerging talent who could have a massive future in the game, winning one cap for Senegal to date and boasting a €400m (£343m) release clause in his Barca deal.

Barca manager Xavi clearly thinks a lot of him as a footballer, which is high praise from a legend of the game, with the 44-year-old saying: "Mikayil Faye? He’s fast, aggressive and great on the ball. I’m sure that one day he’ll be able to help us."

Signing exciting young talent has to be an aim at United under Ratcliffe, having too often signed big names who are past their prime in the recent past, with Varane and Casemiro springing to mind in the current squad.

Faye could come in as one for the future, much like Willy Kambwala, who impressed in Sunday's 2-2 draw at home to Liverpool in the Premier League.

South Africa’s new head coach talks up key lessons about diversity as he prepares to take on England

Some call it bullish, while others call it bullying. Mark Boucher had been labelled both during his playing career. On the field, he was the man up for a fight. Off it, he was one of the toughest fines’ masters around: if he ordered it, you drank it. He was the ultimate boytjie. And then came that day in July 2012.When Boucher’s career was ended by that freak eye injury, three Tests before he planned it would, he was forced to turn his focus inwards. Initially, it took him completely away from cricket and into nature conservation, and then it brought him back as a coach. At the Titans, Boucher was open to running his dressing room differently to the ones he had played in. He let go of the schoolboy-style ideas of hierarchy and embraced modern methods of man-management which are less dictatorial and more focused on individualism.Under Boucher, the Titans won five trophies, produced Aiden Markram, Lungi Ngidi, Tabraiz Shamsi and Heinrich Klaasen for the national side, gave Dean Elgar and Theunis de Bruyn a franchise to find and re-find form and harnessed the talents of players such as Farhaan Behardien and Junior Dala to form a competitive unit. Just read those names and you can see differences of culture, background and experience. That Boucher was able to impact them all speaks of the biggest lesson he has learnt as a coach, and presents a softer and more considered side to a man we all thought we knew as uncompromisingly hard.”My way is not always the right way,” Boucher said at the South African training camp in Pretoria. “There were times in my career where I used to go out there and be quite aggressive and try and impose myself on team-mates and this is what I have learnt about diversity within a set-up. Sometimes you won’t get the best out of the players if you are trying to get them to be like you. My biggest lesson is to let people be who they are and let them be natural. I played at my best when I was natural but my natural wasn’t the same as AB’s [de Villiers’] natural or JK’s [Jacques Kallis’] natural. That’s a big lesson I have learnt with regards to leading individuals.”Boucher’s observations about difference are essential at a time when the South African team risks appearing as if it is returning to the monotone days of the past. Although seven of the national side’s support staff were not part of the famed “clique”, as Herschelle Gibbs dubbed it, four most definitely were, and two of them are in the most influential positions. Graeme Smith is the acting director of cricket and Boucher is the head coach until 2023.In addition, Jacques Kallis is the batting consultant for this summer and Paul Harris’ role as spin consultant is ad-hoc but, considering Boucher was appointed above Enoch Nkwe, who is now his assistant, and taking into account the racial dynamics in South Africa, there are already accusations of a whitewash. While Gibbs has congratulated Boucher, he has also hinted that there is a concentration of power in certain peoples’ hands and so Boucher’s message of inclusivity and humility is even more important.”If you look at every team, they’ve got different characters and I want those different characters to come out because I think they add value to team unity,” Boucher said. “The other thing is understanding that we don’t know everything and there’s certain players in there that have played a lot of Test cricket. Sometimes you’ve just got to be a man manager to them. Other individuals coming in maybe need a little bit more coaching and knowledge passed on to them to try and speed up the learning process.”To apply that approach, not only does Boucher have to be perceptive enough to know which players need him more than others, he also has to able to get his own personality out of the way. And that already seems to have happened.”It’s important that you don’t have guys with egos,” Faf du Plessis, the captain, said. “That’s the most important thing when it comes to leadership groups, especially if there’s a few names thrown into the mix. For someone like Mark Boucher who has been coaching for the last three or four years with the Titans, seeing what it is like on the other side, because coaching and playing are two different roles, and you can see his development from a personality point of view.ALSO READ: Explainer: How and why Cricket South Africa’s crisis unfolded”He also understands that it’s give-and-take. He will come in sometimes and I’ll pull away and vice versa and I think that only comes when you are mature enough to understand what a leadership group looks like and are secure in your own position. If you are insecure, then you are going to feel like you need to talk all the time because there is another big voice in the team but I don’t feel like that at all.”Boucher still talks tough and is quick to remind anyone who asks that South Africa have recovered from tough times before, citing the 2-1 win in an ODI series against Australia after the Hansie Cronje scandal as his example. He needn’t go that far back, though. South Africa pulled themselves together after losing Boucher in the first warm-up match in 2012, which could have put their plans in disarray that summer, to beat England 2-0 and claim the ICC Test mace.So perhaps it’s only fitting that now, seven years later, with another crisis at their door, Boucher is back to try and fix things. But this time, it’s both the same and a different Boucher. It’s still a Boucher that is willing to roll his sleeves up and do the “dirty work” of preparation, and a Boucher that is willing to push others to their limits, but it also a Boucher that is content to sit back and watch what happens rather than bulldoze his way through.”Our role as coaches is about trying to create an environment for these guys to go out there and play their best cricket,” he said. “It’s been hard work on the coaches, we have thrown a lot and my shoulder is a bit sore but we want to get the dirty work done. And the dirty work is sometimes a bit uncomfortable for the players in the nets but we spoke about being adaptable and open to change and to try and break the ceiling a bit and see how far we can push ourselves as individuals and as a team.”
