Sheffield United fans have taken to Twitter to praise Gary Madine for his performance against Reading on Saturday, after the on-loan Cardiff striker hit a brace to give the Blades a convincing 4-0 victory over the Royals.

The 28-year-old only moved to Bramall Lane last month on a loan deal from the Bluebirds, and arrived in controversial fashion having previously been criticised by boss Chris Wilder for abusing Blades forward Billy Sharp whilst on camera.

Since arriving at the club, however, Madine has done his talking on the pitch with two goals and two assists in six appearances, with both of his goals for the club coming in the first half on Saturday to hand his side a commanding 3-0 lead at the break.

Despite questioning his arrival somewhat, Sheffield United fans seem to have performed a U-turn on the man who previously had a few issues with Wilder and Sharp, and have taken to Twitter to praise his performance…

ذكرت تقارير صحفية ألمانية، أن بايرن ميونخ فكر في ضم ماريو جوتزه، لاعب الفريق البافاري وبوروسيا دورتموند السابق.

جوتزه، صاحب الـ28 عامًا، لاعب حر حاليًا بعد انتهاء عقده مع دورتموند مع نهاية الموسم الماضي.

وقالت صحيفة “سبورت بيلد” الألمانية: “تمت مناقشة التعاقد مع جوتزه داخليًا في بايرن ميونخ”.

وأضافت الصحيفة: “في النهاية، قررت إدارة النادي البافاري صرف النظر عن الأمر”.

ولعب جوتزه مع بايرن ميونخ لثلاثة مواسم في الفترة ما بين 2013 حتى 2016، قبل أن يعود إلى دورتموند ويقضي 4 مواسم.

Rangers bounced back from a run of disappointing results in style as they hammered Kilmarnock 5-0 in the Scottish Cup, with Alfredo Morelos hitting four – yes, four – on his return from suspension.

The Gers were forced into a replay having drawn 0-0 with Killie earlier this month but made no mistake in dispatching their opponents at the second time of asking, with Morelos channeling his aggression and desire in the right way to fire his side to victory.

While the Colombian deservedly stole the match ball and headlines, the stellar performance of one of his teammates slipped under the radar in comparison – Daniel Candeias assisted three of Morelos’ four strikes and was Rangers’ conduit of play throughout.

The 15-cap Portuguese had chalked up five goals and six assists prior to the Wednesday night demolition and surely put in his best performance to date this season, albeit in the shadow of Morelos.

Davie Hay has suggested that Celtic cut short Filip Benkovic’s loan deal and send the defender back to Leicester City.

The defender is currently out injured but is expected to be back in contention for a place in March.

Benkovic recently spoke out about how he is looking forward to making an impact in England next season, dashing hopes that Celtic might be able to negotiate a second loan stint.

As quoted by The Scottish Sun, he said: “I want to make another step at the end of the season. I want to show that I can play in the English Premier League.”

The 21-year-old hasn’t played since being injured against Hamilton on January 26, with Hay now questioning the value of bringing him back for less than two months of action.

Looking on Benkovic’s absence on Thursday night and the remainder of the season, Hay explained his thinking in the Evening Times:

“Another big miss has been Filip Benkovic too. I think the boy is a cracking centre-half, probably the most commanding central defender Celtic have had since Virgil van Dijk. But his remarks that he is definitely returning to the Premier League at the end of the season makes you think on a number of fronts.

“One is that Celtic are going to have a substantial job to do in the transfer market this summer with Dedryck Boyata also set to move on. It will need to be a busy summer but I just wonder too if there is any point in Benkovic hanging around now until the end of the season. He might be as well just going back to Leicester now.”

Benkovic has been Celtic’s best central defender this season with that area of the team causing Brendan Rodgers problems throughout.

When Dedryck Boyata made himself unavailable at the start of the season Jack Hendry was teamed up with Kris Ajer as Celtic lost out to AEK Athens in the Champions League qualifiers.

وأضاف المدرب الألماني: “إنه يعمل على جلب بعض اللاعبين، لأننا سنخوض العديد من المباريات المتتالية في الأسابيع والأشهر القليلة المقبلة”.

وأتم: “الوضع سيكون أكثر خطورة بالنسبة للاعبين الدوليين”.

يذكر أن بايرن ميونخ حقق لقب كأس السوبر الأوروبي أمس الخميس بعد الفوز على إشبيلية الإسباني بنتيجة 2-1، بعدما امتدت المباراة للأشواط الإضافية.

The 18-year-old Lewis Brunt could have a long and prosperous career at Aston Villa if his talent is perfectly managed and developed by the Birmingham club.

The midfielder was brilliant for the Aston Villa u-23 side on Monday evening as they beat Sunderland u-23 1-0.

The scoreline might not reflect the dominance with which the Young Lions played and Brunt came close on three occasions of finding the back of the net.

It was ultimately a late penalty from Alexander Prosser who gave Villa the win to boost their position for a spot in the Premier League 2 playoffs.

But, Brunt certainly showed why first-team manager Dean Smith should keep a close eye on him and why he could a future expert midfielder for the club.

Brunt has all the qualities of a midfielder and is exceptional in both attack and defence.

Villa have had their struggles in the midfield this season and only seem to have consistency whenever Jack Grealish plays.

Brunt, though, can offer the same level of composure and stability in the midfield and is more than capable of playing as an attacking midfielder or a defensive midfielder.

For Smith and the club’s management, this should be an exciting prospect as Brunt could become a key player for the club if he grows under the guidance of the manager and other senior figures.

He signed his first professional contract with the club in November last year and since then has been relishing the opportunity of playing in the u-18 Premier League and the Premier League 2 competitions.

If he continues this type of form Smith might be tempted to give him a run in the first-team next season in order for him to gain the experience of playing on the highest level.

For the Villa fans, though, Brunt should also be an exciting talent that could become a club-legend one day and lead the Villans to new heights.

كشفت صحيفة “ماركا” الإسبانية مدة غياب لاعب وسط الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بنادي ريال مدريد، توني كروس، بعد الإعلان عن التشخيص النهائي لإصابته أمام ريال بيتيس.

وتعرض كروس لإصابة أجبرته على عدم استكمال المباراة قبل نهاية شوطها الأول، وأظهرت الفحوصات الطبية تعرض الألماني الدولي لإصابة في العضلة الألوية الوسطى بالساق اليسرى. (طالع التفاصيل)

وأفادت الصحيفة الشهيرة أن كروس من المفترض أن يغيب بسبب تلك الإصابة مدة تتروح بين 10 أيام إلى أسبوعين، وبالتالي، سيغيب اللاعب عن مباراتي ريال مدريد المقبلتين أمام بلد الوليد وليفانتي.

ويستهدف كروس والجهاز الطبي لنادي ريال مدريد العودة بعد انتهاء التوقف الدولي المقبل والذي سيبدأ في الفترة من 5 أكتوبر وحتى 18 أكتوبر القادم.

وقال مرتضى منصور خلال مداخلة هاتفية ببرنامج البريمو عبر قناة تن: “اليوم كنا نلعب من غير طارق حامد وأيضًا فرجاني ساسي فافتقدنا المخ والعضلات في خط الوسط وكذلك القوة والمهارة ولكن ربنا وفقنا وحصدنا 3 نقاط”.

وأوضح: “لو اردوغان وقف على رأسه فلن أسمح بانتقال مصطفى محمد إلى تركيا، وأنا تلقيت عرض من اسبانيا لضمه واليوم وصل عرضًا آخر من ألمانيا”.

وتابع: “لدي طلب واحد ومصطفى يعلمه وهو أن يحصدوا دوري ابطال إفريقيا وسيرحل لأي نادي يريده بعد شهر نوفمبر المقبل”.

وأردف: “بعد بطولة إفريقيا أنا موافق على رحيل أي لاعب ولكن لا بد أن يليق العرض به وبالنادي”.

After watching Newcastle United pull off the most unbelievable comebacks against Everton, the Geordie faithful could feel the start of something special. It might’ve taken time for Rafa Benitez to get them running, but the inspired win shows he’s taken them the right way.

The Magpies’ poor defensive stature was proved in the first half when mistakes at the back allowed Everton to race into a 2-0 lead. However, instead of falling silent like they usually do, Newcastle decided to pounce on the front-foot. Even after Matt Ritchie missed a penalty, Benitez sensed the possibility of a stunning turnaround.

He drifted away from a 3-4-3 shape to a more traditional 4-4-2 formation by bringing in Paul Dummett for Jamaal Lascelles. This change in system worked wonders. Ayoze Perez and Salomon Rondon stuck close to each other, troubling Everton’s defenders with their link-up play and unpredictable movement.

The change in tactics allowed Newcastle to put more crosses into the box, which instantly pressurize Everton’s defence to crumble. Newcastle pulled off their first win after trailing 2-0 since the great Sir Bobby Robson’s days. On the day, Benitez must have hailed as highly as the legendary managers by fans.

After so many problems behind the scenes on Tyneside for years, the Spaniard’s finally gaining his magical touch at Newcastle. He’s got them on the rise and inserted a never-say-die attitude, which could get them far up in the Premier League in the final stretch.

أكد مرتضى منصور، رئيس نادي الزمالك، أنه قام بتكليف الزملكاوي مُعتز الشامي، بمراجعة ملف نادي القرن، مع عدد من الخبراء في هذا الشأن.

ويُطالب الزمالك بأحقيته في الحصول على لقب نادي القرن بدلاً من الأهلي، حيث تقدم بشكوى للاتحاد الإفريقي لكرة القدم كاف، بسبب الطريقة التي أعلن بها نادي القرن مطلع القرن الجاري، بنظام عدد النقاط رغم تتويج الزمالك بعدد بطولات أكبر.

وأضاف مرتضى منصور خلال اجتماعه مع مسئولي الصفحات بمواقع السوشيال ميديا، اليوم: “تم تكليف معتز الشامي بمراجعة ملف نادي القرن مع عدد كبير من الخبراء في هذا الشأن، قبل اتخاذ الإجراءات الرسمية”.

تابع: “عندما قرأت ما قاله محمد بيومي عن قضية نادي القرن شعرت بأن القضية ستفشل، وخلال ثلاثة أيام سيتم إرسال الملف بإذن الله، وأحب أن أوجه سؤال للجميع هل رقم ٧ أكبر من ٩ ؟”.

وواصل: “أنا سعيد جدًا بما يقوم به النادي الأخر من خلال رئيسة ومجلسه من تقليدي في كل الأشياء”.

استكمل حديثه ضاحكًا: “اعمل اجتماع مع اللاعبين في غرفة المحاضرات يعملوا زييٌ، في الملعب اجتمع باللاعبين يقلدوني، وحاجات تانية كتير؛ بس أنا مبسوط أنهم بيقلدوا أفضل رئيس لأفضل نادي في مصر”.

اختتم: “علينا حماية بلدنا من المؤامرات التي يحاول يعملها بعض المخربين الذين لهم مصالح خارجية، وعلينا دعم بلدنا بكل الطرق الممكنة، لذلك يجب علينا الوقوف خلف رئيس الجمهورية والجيش والشرطة، لابد من الوقوف ضد كل المخربين الذين يتواجدون خارج مصر”.
