قالت شبكة “Football Insider” الإنجليزية، إن نادي بايرن ميونخ الألماني خفض سعر بيع الدولي النمساوي دافيد ألابا مدافع الفريق، من أجل بيعه في نافذة الانتقالات الشتوية القادمة، وذلك بعد اهتمام ليفربول بضمه.

ويمتلك ألابا عقدًا مستمرًا مع بايرن ميونخ حتى الصيف المقبل، لكن حتى الآن لم يتوصل لاتفاق مع الإدارة الألمانية حول تجديد العقد، وبالتالي يمكنه التفاوض مع أي فريق بداية من يناير 2021.

تقارير صحفية ذكرت الأسبوع الماضي أن ليفربول يريد ضم ألابا في الشتاء المقبل لتعويض غياب الدولي الهولندي فيرجيل فان دايك (طالع المزيد من التفاصيل).

وبحسب الشبكة، فإن إدارة بايرن ميونخ تريد تفادي رحيل ألابا مجانًا، وستحاول بيعه في الشتاء القادم، وخفضت سعر بيعه.

وأوضحت الشبكة أن إدارة بطل دوري أبطال أوروبا خفضت سعر بيع ألابا إلى النصف، من 60 مليون جنيه إسترليني لـ30 مليونًا.

تلك الأنباء تأتي بعدما أكد حسن صالح حميديتش المدير الرياضي للنادي البافاري عدم استئناف المفاوضات مرة أخرى مع ألابا لتجديد عقده، بعد سحب العرض من قبل إدارة النادي، مشيرًا إلى أن رحيله بات أمرًا واقعًا (طالع ماذا قال؟).

Ahead of West Brom’s match with Derby last weekend, James Shan revealed that he knew his best Albion team.

However, his starting XI against the Rams in their 3-1 defeat was anything but their best. For starters, it lacked Chris Brunt, one of the most impressive men under Shan since he took the reins.

But the main issue was not his exclusion. Instead, it was the switch of formation, something that was arguably the Baggies’ downfall as they were defeated in their final game before the play-offs.

At times, playing with two up front in Jay Rodriguez and Dwight Gayle has been devastating, but with one of them shifted out wide once again last Sunday, it didn’t go well.

On the chalkboard

Where do we begin with Jacob Murphy? The Newcastle loanee clearly has talent, but his performance against Derby only provided yet more evidence of why West Brom simply aren’t as good when they play with wingers, and it wasn’t his first disappointing display of the campaign.

There was one small glimpse of what he could do, performing an intelligent cut-back for Gayle, but in missing a shot on goal and boasting a quite frankly awful pass success percentage of 67%, he displayed why he can’t be relied upon in the play-offs.

Shan has mixed his formations and system since being given the managerial role and it’s in a 3-5-2, not a 3-4-3 that he went with last weekend, that has worked the best.

Given the midfielders Albion have at their disposal it’s baffling that the manager would think anything other than a bulky midfield would be wise.

There is a distinct lack of quality from wide areas, with Kieran Gibbs on the left the only man to really provide anything from that area of the pitch in recent weeks.

With this in mind, playing with wing-backs, rather than more attacking wingers must surely be the way forward.

Sunday could have been used as a real audition for Murphy. Likewise with Matt Phillips who has looked considerably better in the middle, as opposed to on the flanks. However, both disappointed.

If Shan does know his best team, we’ll get a glimpse of it in the play-off semi-final next week.

But if it’s the same system to the one he deployed at Pride Park it won’t only be incredibly surprising, but also deeply concerning.

Leicester’s main priority in the summer transfer market is likely to be securing Youri Tielemans on a permanent deal. Brendan Rodgers has admitted the club will do everything they can to sign him.

However, fans of the Foxes have been debating another possible transfer, reacting to a tweet talking about Portuguese striker Andre Silva who has spent the season with Sevilla.

The reaction to a potential transfer was split positively and negatively as the fan base appeared divided over Silva. The 23-year-old has attracted interest from the Midlands side per El Desmarque.

One fan claimed that he was overhyped and overrated whilst another joked about the possibility of signing a player with a similar name to Adrien Silva.

A further supporter looked at things more analytically, hinting that Salomon Rondon would be a better option in the transfer market.

West Bromwich Albion Technical Director Luke Dowling has claimed in quotes per The Express & Star, that the club won’t try and sign Dwight Gayle again due to financial reasons.

What’s the word?

Gayle was absolutely sensational for West Brom this season and alongside Jay Rodriguez built a partnership that nearly took them to the Premier League.

Albion were within five penalty kicks of sealing a place at Wembley but without Gayle, who was suspended, they crashed out of the play-offs in the semi-finals.

However, despite the striker scoring 24 crucial goals for the Baggies in 2018/19, he won’t return to the club. This is according to the words of Dowling who issued the following statement which was quoted by The Express & Star.

“Financially, we were prepared to pay the money for Dwight’s contract for this season. It hasn’t worked out. Dwight’s contract is a Premier League contract and we will pay Premier League contracts, but we’ll only do that once we’re back in the Premier League.

“I know it won’t be the news Albion fans want to hear, but they need to trust us and know we’re doing everything right for this club.”

Playing safe yet again

The news that Gayle wouldn’t sign next term was bad enough for the supporters but the lack of ambition Dowling and the club are showing has once again put a cloud of negativity over the Hawthorns.

This isn’t the first time things have been dealt with in this manner, though.

The managerial appointment of Jimmy Shan until the end of the season was safe, choosing to go with the cheap option rather than finding a coach who could have got them promoted. Therefore, the decision not to bring Gayle back because of finances is another dagger to the heart.

Until West Brom learn from this then they will continue to fall into mediocrity. More risks need to be taken and that doesn’t just count for the playing staff, but also for whoever walks through the door as their next manager.

If the Baggies needed to keep just one player at the club then it would be Gayle. He is the epitome of a good Championship striker and they could well struggle to replicate their play-off bid without him next term.

In short, Dowling and Mark Jenkins can no longer afford to play things safe. Trying to secure Gayle again would have been a statement. Instead, everything feels as though it’ll be far too similar to previous years.

Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham has hinted that he could join Aston Villa on a permanent deal in this summer’s transfer window.

What’s the word, then?

Abraham played the full 90 minutes as Villa recorded a 2-1 win over Derby County in Monday’s Championship playoff final to secure a return to the Premier League.

As it stands, the England international will be heading back to Chelsea this summer with the view to battling for a first-team spot at Stamford Bridge next term.

However, Villa have been linked with a £25m swoop for the striker, who has refused to rule out a permanent move to the newly-promoted side.

Abraham told Sky Sports in his post-match interview:

“You can never say never, first of all, I have to enjoy it with the boys tonight. You can never say never. [I’ll] see what God has in store for me.”

There is absolutely no question that the striker was key for Villa during the 2018-19 campaign.

However, Dean Smith’s side must ensure that they use their heads when it comes to the 6 ft 3 ace rather than making an emotional decision.

How will this one play out?

Abraham has ended the season with 26 goals in 42 appearances for Villa – including 25 during the regular Championship campaign.

The Englishman is a serious force at Championship level but is yet to prove himself in the Premier League, managing just five top-flight goals during a loan spell at Swansea City.

Chelsea will surely now increase their £25m asking price following Villa’s promotion and that will leave Smith’s team with a huge decision to make.

Abraham has played a key role in Villa returning to the top flight but any decision taken at this point could be due to the emotion surrounding Monday’s win over Derby.

Spending big on Abraham this summer would effectively make him Villa’s starting forward next season and that would be a huge gamble when taking everything into consideration.
