Buffarini acertou a trave.

Liverpool considering Millar sale

A major update has emerged on £3k-p/w ace Liam Millar, it could lead to Charlton re-igniting their interest in an exciting attacker.

What’s the talk?

According to The Athletic, as relayed by Football League World this week, Liverpool could look to offload Millar in the summer transfer window to raise funds for signings of their own. Millar spent the second half of last season on loan to Charlton in League One and could now be sold by the Reds as they look to cash in on his recent form for the Addicks.

Earlier this year, Charlton boss Nigel Adkins labelled Millar as a talented player and said that he is still learning and working on his decision-making in the final third. He told London News Online:

“He’s a young player learning his way. What we’re trying to do is get good, talented players in the final third of the pitch. From a game point of view, we’ve achieved that. Then it’s can we win some more corners, throw-ins, free-kicks, get at him drive into the penalty box. And then it’s final delivery, put the ball in the box.

“All part of his learning and development. As a team we’ve tried to put him in that area of the pitch, so we’ve achieved that. We’re trying to get talented players the ball and they’ve got to make the decisions and go and do that bit of magic. I’m sure we’ll sit down and reflect on it, talk about some of the different things and just help him so when we get in them positions again he can just keep improving.”

Get it done

Charlton must aim to complete a deal to bring Liam Millar back to the club. He is already accustomed to Charlton’s style of play and knows what Adkins wants from his side, because of his stint at The Valley on loan, and this means that he could be able to hit the ground running next season. So, Charlton should join the race to sign Millar permanently and attempt to win the battle for his signature, taking advantage of Liverpool’s stance.

If Charlton have the opportunity to bring Millar back on a long-term contract then they need to act now and secure his services. Millar impressed during his spell at the club on loan, with two goals and six assists from the wing for Adkins’ team. He averaged a WhoScored rating of 7.37 in eight starts as a left midfielder and 7.06 in 10 starts as a left forward. This shows that he was able to shine within Adkins’ system and that he could be an excellent player for Charlton in League One next season.

Millar, £3k-per-week ace, arriving for a second spell with Charlton could also be a huge boost for Adkins. The former Saints boss admitted in the aforementioned quotes that he wants to work with Millar to improve his game. This move would afford Adkins time to coach Millar over the course of several seasons to personally oversee his development and make sure that he fulfils his potential. Therefore, Adkins would love it if the club could go back in for Millar and Charlton should look to strike an agreement with Liverpool.

AND in other news, Charlton must act quickly to land “confident” £2.4k-p/w beast, fans would be buzzing…

Blues stay alive with win over Bulls

The New South Wales Blues kept their hopes of a finals berth in the Pura Cup alive today with an eight-wicket victory over competition-leaders the Queensland Bulls at the Sydney Cricket Ground

Rick Eyre05-Mar-2001The New South Wales Blues kept their hopes of a finals berth in the Pura Cup alive today with an eight-wicket victory over competition-leaders the Queensland Bulls at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Along with the Victorian Bushrangers’ six-wicket loss to the Tasmanian Tigers today, this result keeps the Blues just six points from the lead with two matches remaining. The game finished midway through the afternoon after New South Wales achieved a simple target of 25 for victory, albeit with the loss of two wickets. Mark Higgs was named Man of the Match for his first innings knock of 181 not out.The final day began with Queensland on 4/155, needing another 68 runs to make the Blues bat again. A 122-run stand between Queensland captain Stuart Law, and first-class debutant Brendan Nash, reduced the threat of an innings loss. Nash, out for a duck in the first innings on Sunday, made 44 before edging Stuart MacGill to Shane Lee at slip. Law was within sight of his 50th first-class century, when on 98 he played a loose pull shot off MacGill which was lofted to Nathan Bracken at mid-on.Wade Seccombe (21) and Andy Bichel (12) ensured that New South Wales would bat again, but both lost the wickets in the two overs before lunch. Shane Lee finished the Queensland innings in the third over after the interval, removing Scott O’Leary and Joe Dawes, both lbw, within the space of three deliveries.Lee finished the Queensland second innings of 247 with the figures of 3/10 from four overs, while MacGill claimed 3/79. Higgs (2/42) and Anthony Clark (a career-best 2/19) claimed the remainder of the Queensland wickets. Nathan Bracken and Don Nash went wicketless, the latter, in his seven overs, failing to impress with the ball.New South Wales took 9.4 overs to score the necessary 25 runs to effect the outright, but not before the loss of both opening batsmen. Brett van Deinsen was run out for 1 after a mixup with his partner Greg Mail (12), who was caught down the leg side by Queensland wicketkeeper Wade Seccombe off the bowling of Andy Bichel. It was left to Michael Clarke and Graeme Rummans – who was brought into the side today as a substitute for India-bound Brad Haddin – to complete the win.Following today’s results, Queensland is ahead of Victoria (both 28 pts) on quotient, with New South Wales on 22 and Western Australia, who defeated South Australia by 36 runs, on 16. With all teams having two more matches to play, only South Australia (14) and Tasmania (10) cannot make the final.

A escalação do segundo tempo teve Jailson, Fabiano, Edu Dracena, Vitor Hugo e Egídio; Arouca; Erik, Raphael Veiga, Vitinho e Keno; Lucas Barrios.

A equipe que terminou a atividade tinha Vinicius Silvestre, Mailton (sub-20), Vitão (sub-20), Augusto (sub-20) e Matheus Bahia (sub-20); Thiago Santos; Léo Passos (sub-20), Rodrigo, Hyoran e Bernardo (sub-17); Willian.

Journalist confirms Leeds’ interest in Lang

Leeds United are interested in signing exciting Dutch youngster Noa Lang in the summer transfer window, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Lowdown: Leeds linked with Lang move

The 21-year-old caught the eye for Club Brugge last season, moving there on loan from Ajax and scoring 17 goals, in all competitions.

Leeds have been linked before with snapping up the talented Dutchman, with Victor Orta and co clearly seeing him as someone who could bolster Marcelo Bielsa’s attacking options in 2021/22.

The Latest: Romano provides update

Romano has now given a fresh update on the Whites’ pursuit of Lang, taking to Twitter to confirm that ‘Leeds are interested’ and ‘want to open talks’ with him over a move.

Brugge are keen on offering the forward a new deal – they have the option of signing him permanently – but it remains to be seen if he decides to stay put or not.

[web_stories_embed url=”https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/web-stories/latest-leeds-united-news-5/” title=”Latest Leeds United news!” poster=”” width=”360″ height=”600″ align=“none”]

The Verdict: Hugely exciting addition

Lang looks a player of great potential, having already become such a key man at the age of just 21, and he could be an extremely exciting signing for Leeds.

He has been described as a ‘phenomenon’ by Belgian sports journalist Peter Vandenbempt, which speaks volumes about his level of talent.

Lang’s productivity in the final third is sure to appeal to Orta and Bielsa – he enjoyed a total of 23 goal involvements in the Jupiler Pro League alone last season – and this combination of proven quality and youth would represent both a current and a long-term acquisition.

In other news, there has been an update on Leeds’ interest in a potential new left-back this summer. Find out who it is here.

Easterns fight back against the Titans

The Northerns Titans finished the second day of their SuperSport Series Super Eight match against Easterns with a 177-run lead on at SuperSport Park Friday

Michael Vlismas02-Mar-2001The Northerns Titans finished the second day of their SuperSport Series Super Eight match against Easterns with a 177-run lead on at SuperSport Park Friday.Northerns, resuming on 362 for six following the superb 144 by Jacques Rudolph on the first day, were bowled out for 415 before lunch. Dirkie de Vos, resuming on 92, was trapped lbw by Gareth Flusk a painful three runs short of his century. However, De Vos’ 97 is still his best in the competition, and came off 148 balls with 14 fours. It was then the turn of Easterns opener Andre Seymore to punish his old teammates with an unbeaten century that guided the visitors to a close of play total of 238 for five in 80.3 overs. Seymore carried his bat on 113, scored off 228 balls and featuring 16 fours.Easterns captain Derek Crookes also made a useful contribution with the bat. Crookes hit six fours and one six in his knock of 59. But the skipper will not take happily to losing a wicket off literally the last ball of the day.Pierre de Bruyn edged a delivery from David Townsend to Jacques Rudolph at slip, ending a solid 72-run partnership with Seymore for the fifth wicket.Northerns paceman Steve Elworthy moved one step closer to the magical 400 wicket mark. The veteran bowler had Easterns opener Dylan Jennings trapped lbw to leave him only five short of the milestone.

Imran puts Karachi in command

A strokeful and chanceless century by Imran Javed put Karachi Whites in the drivers seat against Faisalabad at stumps on the second day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy match at the National Stadium Wednesday

14-Feb-2002A strokeful and chanceless century by Imran Javed put Karachi Whites in the drivers seat against Faisalabad at stumps on the second day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy match at the National Stadium Wednesday. The fast-improving 21-year-old Imran finished unbeaten at 112 as the home team recovered from a precarious 135 for five to 311 for six. They lead Faisalabad by 88 runs with two days and four wickets to spare.Imran added 134 runs for the fifth wicket in as many minutes with Shadab Kabir who battled flu to contributed 48 at No 6 before being declared caught behind. Shadab’s walk to the dressing room suggested he might have been a bit unlucky.Faisalabad paceman Moazzam Ali caused the maximum damage when he finished with four wickets for 95 runs from 23 overs, including three wickets in 38 balls in a post-lunch spell. But the hero of the day was Imran Javed who is rapidly blossoming into a fine stroke-maker.The youngster has fully capitalized from his excellent form as he has amassed runs 456 (67*, 78*, 125*, 0, 41, 18, 15, 112*) in the ongoing tournament. He averages 114.Imran’s commitment and concentration can be judged from the fact that he has faced 160 balls during his 205 minutes innings while 82 of his runs have come from 19 boundaries and a six.Experienced Ghulam Ali was the other notable Karachi batsman while scoring a typical attractive 54 that included nine punishing boundaries. Fortunate to have been caught off a no-ball and then dropped when 24, Ghulam Ali added 82 for the second wicket with Saeed bin Nasir (38) who also benefited from a dropped catch by Aqeel Khan off his own bowling. If three Karachi players were down with flu, three Faisalabad boys were injured. But the injury to Aqeel while attempting to catch Saeed proved costly as he failed to take the field after bowling 28 deliveries.

O time estreia no Campeonato Paulista neste domingo, contra o Botafogo-SP, no Allianz Parque.
