Assim que Eduardo Barroca se apresentou aos microfones pela primeira vez como técnico do Botafogo, não escondeu que o seu objetivo era, acima de tudo, resultados a curto prazo. O comandante tem alcançado o projetado e, neste domingo, às 16h (de Brasília), diante do Goiás, o Alvinegro vai em busca de sua primeira fora do Rio de Janeiro. O duelo será realizado no Serra Dourada, válido pela quinta rodada do Campeonato Brasileiro e terá transmissão em tempo real do LANCE!.

Na competição, o Botafogo soma nove pontos, em 12 possíveis, e já fala em focar na parte de cima de tabela, como tem caminhado nos três últimos jogos, encerrados com triunfos alvinegros. Barroca quer que os seus comandados sigam com “coragem” para vencer distante de seus aposentos.

Sri Lanka’s top team departed for the World Twenty20 in Bangladesh on Sunday morning, but the standoff over player contracts persisted, and will now likely only be resolved when the team returns. A board official had offered players an opportunity to sign when the team assembled at SLC’s Maitland Place offices at 4am on Sunday, but the players had refused.*The players had met late on Saturday to discuss their position, but although SLC had issued threats of sending a second-string team to the World T20 earlier in the day, the players maintained their opposition to a contract that does not feature a percentage cut of the payment SLC receives for the team’s participation in global tournaments.On Saturday night, SLC CEO Ashley de Silva indicated the board was content to defer contract negotiations. “If they don’t sign it before they leave, I suppose we will look at it again when they come back,” he said.SLC stands to gain most from its cricketers playing in the tournament unsigned. The board is no longer bound to pay the $500,000 flat fee, nor the two-tiered incentive payments it had offered as part of its revised offer, which was a partial sop to the players’ demand for 20% of the gross sum received by SLC for tournament participation.As had happened in 2012, when contracts were not signed until mid-July, the players may not even receive match fees or regular salaries as long as the contracts remain unsigned. These funds are likely to be retroactively credited when the contracts are agreed to, however.The players had softened their demands by the eve of their departure, asking for 12% of the tournament fee. The ICC is expected to pay SLC approximately $8.9 million for the World T20, meaning the figure the players had held out for, was about $1.07 million. The difference between the guaranteed flat fee the board offered and the percentage sought by the players amounts to about $570,000 for the tournament. But beyond those sums, the players’ objection to SLC’s proposal is largely driven by the belief they are due a percentage of the ICC payment, primarily as compensation for the use of their images in promotional material for global tournaments.Sri Lanka’s players had received a cut of the ICC event fee from 2003 to 2012, until the board struck that payment from player contracts last year. The players’ grievances are also fueled by the complaint that they are being penalised for the administrators’ misuse of finances. Cabe destacar que o Botafogobaseia-se na regra 5 da Fifa e no protocolo 8.12 do VAR. A alegação é de que a decisão do árbitro principal não pode ser alterada após o reinício da partida. Assim, para o Botafogo, o protocolo do árbitro assistente de vídeo não foi seguido corretamente no lance que definiu o jogo à favor do Palmeiras, líder do Brasileirão, com 16 pontos.

Os passos que o Botafogo dará serão os seguintes: uma representação será emitida em duas esferas: na Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF), quanto àatuação do árbitro, e no Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva (STJD), quanto àanulação da partida.

O Botafogo pedirá a anulação do jogo com o Palmeiras. O VAR foi usado indevidamente, pois a partida havia sido reiniciada. O Botafogo saiu de campo revoltado a arbitragem no duelo em Brasília. Personagem direto no lance no qual Deyverson foi tocado e o pênalti foi marcado, após revisão do árbitro de vídeo, para o Verdão, Gabriel reclamou o seguinte, ao canal Premiere:

But just a day after registering their first win in this IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad are faced with the worrying prospect of facing a red-hot Chennai Super Kings machinery that, just like every season, is steam-rolling other teams into submission. Sunrisers’ top three clicked for the first time in the match against Delhi Daredevils, bettering their previous-best total of this season by 51 runs, but life is not likely to be as comfortable against the yellows.Shikhar Dhawan, Aaron Finch and David Warner, all got vital runs to boost their confidence but there were extended periods in the match against Daredevils when they looked short on fluency. The good news for Sunrisers is that they rode those spells as how the three perform against the impressive trio of Super Kings seamers and their steady spinners is going to be critical for them.More important perhaps is going to be how Sunrisers’ bowlers deal with Super Kings’ batsmen. The sight of Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum can send sepulchral chill waves among bowlers early, so a lot will depend on if Dale Steyn raises his game a notch. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been impressive and can draw on the success he had against Smith in the recent World T20 match. But after overstepping once during the semi-final against South Africa, something has gone amiss. He is not able to control the flow of runs. He went wicketless against Daredevils and was torn apart in the match before that too. It’s a big game now and Dhawan needs his trump card to find his mojo again.Faf du Plessis is the only Super Kings batsman in top four not to score a half-century till now. But apart from one match – against Rajasthan Royals – the lack of runs from his bat hasn’t really affected the team as the openers have been brilliant. There is no immediate threat to his place in the team – MS Dhoni likes to stick to his XI – but du Plessis needs some runs to fortify the team’s batting further.Stats and trivia Amit Mishra is one short of becoming the only second bowler in the IPL to collect 100 wickets.
